Back up and sync is a storage service that automatically saves your photos and videos to your Google Account. These photos and videos volition be accessible from whatever device where you are logged into your account.
Benefits

Before you lot get started
What you need to back up photos & videos
- Good cyberspace connectedness.
- File sizes that can be backed up. Your files won't exist backed upwards if they are:
- Photos larger than 200 MB or 150 MP
- Videos larger than 10 GB.
- Items smaller than 256 x 256.
- File types that tin be backed upward.
- Photos: .jpg, .heic, .png, .webp, .gif, and some RAW files.
- Live photos can be backed up if you lot use the Google Photos app on your iPhone or iPad.
- Videos: .mpg, .modern, .mmv, .tod, .wmv, .asf, .avi, .divx, .mov, .m4v, .3gp, .3g2, .mp4, .m2t, .m2ts, .mts, and .mkv files.
If you try to back up a file type not listed here, it may not work with Google Photos.
Of import: Your Google Account storage is shared beyond multiple products similar Google Photos, Google Drive, and Gmail. If yous have used all of your storage, you lot won't be able to back upwards new files.

Change your backup settings
- Cull the Google Account to back up photos and videos: Under "Backup account," tap the business relationship name.
- Modify your upload size: Tap Upload size. Learn more about upload sizes.
- Back upward on mobile information: If you don't want to look for Wi-Fi to back upward your photos, nether "When to back up," tap Use cellular data to back upwards photos or Use cellular data to back up videos. Charges from your service provider may apply if you lot upload using your mobile network.
Check if your photos are backed up
- On your iPhone or iPad, open the Google Photos app

- Sign in to your Google Account.
- In the top correct, tap your Google Account profile picture.

Costs to back up
As of June 1, 2021, any new photos or videos you back up in Storage saver quality (previously named High quality) or Express quality volition count toward your Google Account storage. Photos and videos backed up in Original quality will go along to count toward your Google Account storage. Learn more virtually photo and video backup options.
Each Google Account comes with xv GB of storage.
Check your Google Account storage.
Important: Any photos or videos y'all've backed up in Loftier quality or Express quality before June i, 2021 won't count toward your Google Account storage.
